main immediate trail projects

weightless

Ever since our beautiful climbing trail "Stone Free" was built in Kal Park, we have been getting lots of requests for one thing: a fast and flowy blue trail. The answer to these requests is our next project: Weightless, which will start near the top of Stone Free (NOT Stone Free Again, we will get to that later), and flow down the hillside on the east side of Stone Free and end at the Pond Loop.

We have been working to make that trail possible, and we are now very close! We are in negotiations with part of Silver Star's build crew to build the trail, and we hope to get shovels in the ground during Spring of 2016. The one thing that has stopped us from committing to the trail so far is monetary concerns. A smooth, flowy trail similar to the beautiful trails up at Silver Star Bike Park requires professional builders and more funds than we generally spend on trail building. We estimate the cost of building Weightless to be in the range of $10,000 to $12,000, which is not practical with our regular annual membership fees (the majority of our membership fees goes to insurance) and fundraising.

We have teamed up with the Parks Enhancement Fund (PEF) of BC Parks to make it possible for you to receive a tax receipt for donations over $25, and all donations through the PEF will go to whichever trail project we are focusing on at the time. Right now, that trail project is Weightless, and if we get enough donations to secure the project, we fully expect to be riding it by early summer!

If you want this trail to happen as bad as us, and you are able to donate, please download the donation form (or click here if that first link doesn't work for you) and follow the instructions on bottom of the page.

Thank you to everyone in our community who makes our amazing trails possible, whether you do it through donations or volunteer hours... you make the North Okanagan a great place to live and ride!

pali gap

Pali Gap is the last big step in making our epic "Honest Ed" loop pure singletrack. it goes from the top of Stone Free Again to the beginning of Tombstone, allowing you to avoid the long trek on the Forestry Service Road that was previously necessary. Pali Gap has already been roughed in, and will get finished up in Spring of 2016. We are all stoked to ride it when it is good to go! Check out the picture below for a visual of where it is being built...

Pali Gap begins near the top of Stone Free Again and connects to Tombstone, completing the singletrack circuit to Big Ed.
