Come out this Thursday, August 20 @ 6:00 PM to get a bit of a different perspective on Kal Park! We are going to meet at the recently expanded Cougar Canyon parking lot (a.k.a. the Climber's Parking Lot), and from there hit the Stone Free/Twisted Sisters loop.
Big thanks to Olympia Cycle and Ski for leading the ride! As always, bring a toonie for the grub afterwards, NOCS will be bringing out some smokies and salads for your refreshment.
If you haven't been out to the Cougar Canyon Parking Lot yet this year, you may be surprised to see it has been massively expanded, and should have plenty of space to accommodate everyone at the Toonie Ride. It is still at the same location, but has been moved up away from the road a bit into a larger cleared area. For those who haven't been there at all, you need to drive through all of Kal Park on Cosens Bay Road, and you will eventually see the turnoff to enter the parking lot on the left side of the road.
Also, please remember that parking along Cosens Bay Road or pulling just off the road at places like the bottom of Crash of '08, or near the kiosk is not permitted. We are using a Provincial Park, and it is important to respect the rules, we have several parking lots at the perimeter of the park to use. Plus, you may get towed if you park illegally.
Upcoming Toonie Rides:
- August 27 - Kal Park - Sun Country Cycle and Arise Chiropractic
- September 3 - Silver Star Sovereign Network - Skyride and Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre
